Umpqua Bank TM Tech Solutions Consultant in Portland, Oregon


Responsible for working with Treasury Management Consultants (TMCs) and Commercial Card Consultants (CCCs) and their clients and prospects to develop and deliver technical and highly complex working capital solutions. Utilizing a consultative sales process, the Technical Solutions Consultant supports and guides the solutions design approach and ensures an integrated and comprehensive solution is provided to meet the clients' specific needs. Acts as a liaison between Sales, Product Management, Operations and third-party vendors as needed to deliver optimal solutions. Works with Global Payments & Deposits Implementation team and clients to develop solution requirements and execute on those requirements throughout the implementation.


  • Lead technical consultation with most complex solutions and clients from a payments and treasury management perspective.

  • Develop technical process and data flows, account and solution structures, working with complex relationships, acting as liaison between TMC, CCC, Product Management and Operations.

  • Drive new sales and revenue by developing technical solutions and ensuring the bank can meet the client's unique requirements.

  • Direct implementation teams' activities and project workflow to ensure clients' technical requirements and specifications are met.

  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities -- knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, MIS, Marketing, or Business required.

  • Master's degree in Business Administration preferred.

  • Certified Treasury Professional Certification preferred.

  • More than 8 years of Treasury Management Sales, Commercial Card Sales, TM / Payments Product Management required.

  • 3 - 5 years of Treasury Management Sales management experience preferred.

  • Experience leading teams and project management oversight.

  • Knowledge of bank payment systems, treasury management products, competitive practices and the impact of technology, regulatory, and legislative changes on services offered by commercial banks and other financial providers.

  • Experience with common customer accounting platforms preferred; ex: QuickBooks, Microsoft GP, NetSuite, Oracle, Sage, and PeopleSoft.

  • Proven ability to consistently achieve established sales and customer satisfaction goals, demonstrate effective new business development strategies, and build/source new relationships.

  • Experience in project management with a proven attention to detail.

  • Advanced level of accountability, leadership and outcome ownership.
